On Aug 28^th we had our first Black Belt test at the YMCA in the Bronx. To all those that had tested and recieved their ranks we congratulate you on your accomplishment.

We have Grandison, Porter, Bertrand, and Williams receiving their Jr. Black Belts and Dexter receiving his 1^st Dan.

Greetings everyone, on the 28^th of August their will be a promotion test for the high brown belts. They will be testing for their Junior Black Belts and 1^st Degrees. We would like to congratulate you on your hard work getting to this point. Good luck on your test and keep up the good work.

Following the test we will be having our annual BBQ, please remember to bring the dish you have decided to prepare and your appetite.

Starting the 23^rd of Aug we will be on vaction for the next two weeks resuming class on the 7^th of Sept. We hope to see you all come back with the up coming school year.

The 3rd US Yong In Open Taekwondo Championship

We are pleased to announce that our school did very well in the tournament. The kids came home with several first and second place medals, wtih one or two third places.

Overall, we did extremely well. Let keep up the good work.

Welcome Back

Welcome back to all of our students that went away on spring break. We hope you have rested well and ready to continue your training.

Parents please remember that the new session starts in May, so please make sure you have your child registered.

Additionally, for those that are participating int he upcoming tournament on April 18^th we wish you good luck.

One final note, we would like to congratulate Quanda on obtaining her red belt.

Once again congratulations to all of those who had taken their test for their next belts on 2/6 and 2/7.

For those that have recieved their High Brown Belts. You are closer to achieving your Junior Black Belts. As the days get closer for you obtaining that rank, think back on how many of your fellow students started with you and dropped out. You are to be commended on you perserverance. We of New Age TKD are proud of you, keep up the good work and press forward.

To everyone else, before you we see a group of student that started out right where you are and overt the years they strived to reach this point. Let this be encouragement for you and know that it is possible. You can make it there too. Push yourselves and you will do it, because you can do it, and when you look back you will know that you did do it.

As we say: 'I can, I will, I did, Never give up"

Congratulations to all those that had tested on Feb 6^th and 7^th. As the raod to obtaining a black belt or jr. black belt draws nearer we must never give up and always strive to become better.

Promotion Test

The upcoming promotion test is schedule for 9:30 am on Feb. 6^th 2010 for the white, yellow, orange, and green belts. Please be there by 9:00 am because we will be starting promptly.

Additionally, all other belts and adults will be tested Feb. 7^th at 10:30 am. Once again please be there 30 minutes before your scheduled test, to ask last minute questions.

We looking forward to see all of our friends and family attending.

First Week

Welcome to all students. This is the first full week we have been back in class an it is a pleasure to see all back again safe and sound.

It is with great pleasure to announce the that there will be testing in February. The dates are:

Feb 6th @ 10am-1pm for ranks whites-green.
Feb 7th @ 10am-3pm for ranks blue-brown.

The times are subject to change.

New Year

This is to inform all students and parents that New Age will be closed from Dec 24. till Jan 3. Parents, please remember to have your children signed up for the upcoming session and to all of the students keep practicing and we hope to see you back in the upcoming year.

All of the pages will not have an updated news section at the same time. The most important page that will be update is the homepage, which will happen on a periodic as needed basis. The other pages will be updated at a later time. We apologize for any inconveince.

The new social networking site is now up. The url is http://newagetkd.ning.com. It is designed to allow for greater connectivity between the instructors and students and students with other students.

I ask that everyone please feel free to utilize the network to its fullest potential. Sign-up, edit your profile, and stay connected.

New Website

Thank you for your patients in developing this new site. Please feel free to email, the support@newagetkd.com address if you are having any issues in viewing the site and if it looks buggy in your browser.

The next items that will be added will be:
1) Social Network- parents and students can post questions, comments, or anything in general in regards to training. It is just asked that you use your real name for your user name.

2)Videos/Photos- the videos will take some time to go up, however, the photos are being processed now and there will be some up in the next week or so. If you do not wish to have any photos up of your child please let the site administrator know. Remember, if your child's photo is not up there it is because there is not one on file.

New Age TKD FAmily BBQ

Thank you all for coming out to the family BBQ. Although it was not as much sun as we might have hoped it was a pleasure. Thank you to all the parents that have prepared dishes and brought things in. Without your help it would not have been as big of a success as it was.

To all those in attendance students, friends, and family we hope to see you next year.

Hapkido Test

Although this is old, we would like to congradulate all those that had taken their Hapkido test on the 27th of July. For many it was thier first test and may feel a little discouraged, but you have done well and keep up the good work. We commend you on the efforts you have taken and we hope to see you accomplish more.

Black Belt Promotion

This past week, Anthony Cruz tested for his first degree. His test was for three days (approximately one hour each day). The break down of the test is as follows:

Sept 15th- All technique from kicks, blocks, and strikes.
Sept 17th- Self-defense, One Steps, and grappling
Sept 19th- Forms and breaking

It was long but well worth the effort. As he continues to climb the ladder in rank, he moves onto to the next step of becoming an instructor. We wish you good luck on your endeavours and keep up the good work.
